Harvinder Pal Singh (born 24th December 1960) popularly known as H P Singh is the Managing Director and Chairman of Satin Creditcare Network Limited(SCNL), the second largest microfinance institution in terms of GLP(1) as on Sep 30, 2017. He is also the founder and Promoter of Tomorrow's India, a global platform for businesses and entrepreneurs.[1] [2]

Early Life[edit]

Harvinder Pal Singh was born and raised in New Delhi, India. He is a graduate in commerce from University of Delhi and a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India since 1984. He has also completed HBS-ACCION Program on Strategic Leadership in Inclusive Finance from Harvard Business School.

Career[edit]

1990-1998[edit]

In 1990, H P Singh started as a provider of individual and small business loan and savings services to urban shopkeepers under the name of Satin Creditcare Network Limited as a Non-Banking Finance Company(NBFC).[3]

1998-2013[edit]

Under his leadership Satin Creditcare gained recognition as an NBFC with the RBI.[4]

2013-2017[edit]

In 2013, he was instrumental in converting Satin Creditcare as an NBFC-MFI.[5] In 2015 he led SCNL to Iconic Name in Microfinance Award.[3]

2017-Present[edit]

On November 2017, Satin Creditcare Network Ltd received housing finance licence for its subsidiary Satin Housing Finance, a wholly-owned unit of Satin Creditcare, the company will focus on opportunities in the affordable housing segment. The firm received approval from National Housing Bank, the regulator for housing finance companies.[6]. In the very next year 2016, his leadersghip proved vital for SCNL in recieving ‘The Best MFI of India Award’, by Worldwide Achievers. Satin Creditcare was also awarded with Smart Certification for its commitment to client protection in Smart Campaign Client Protection Certificate. SCNL scored ‘Platinum’ rating and an overall rating of 4 stars in the ‘Impact Business Model Rating’, conducted by GIIRS. The purple patch for SCNL under H P Singh continued and as a result, they received ==Iconic Name in Microfinance Award==, at the Make in India Conclave Indian Realty Award & International Business Awards. In 2016, SCNL also announced starting of operations in 25 new branches.[4]

Personal Life[edit]

Harvinder Pal Singh is married to Anureet H P Singh with whom he has two daughters. His father's name is Harbans Singh & mother's name is Kamalinder Kaur.
