Ho Chi Minh City University of Food Industry (Abbreviation: HUFI, Vietnamese: Trường Đại học Công nghiệp Thực phẩm TP. Hồ Chí Minh) was established on September 9, 1982 under the Ministry of Food Industry with the Mission to educate and train professional talents in the Food Industry.[1]
History and Development[edit]
Ho Chi Minh City University of Food Industry was established on the basis of upgrading Ho Chi Minh City College of Food Industry, under the Ministry of Industry and Trade under the decision No. 284 QD-TTg on February 23, 2010 issued by the Prime Minister.[2]
Year 1982: The school was established according to Decision No. 986/CNTP, dated 9/9/1982 of the Minister of Food Industry with the name: Ho Chi Minh City School of Economic and Technical Staff of Food Industry
Year 1987: The school was renamed Ho Chi Minh City Food Industry High School according to Decision No. 25 CNTP/TCCB dated May 3, 1987 of the Minister of Food Industry.
Year 2001: The school was upgraded to Ho Chi Minh City College of Food Industry under Decision No. 18/QD-BGD&DT -TCCB dated January 2, 2001 of the Minister of Education and Training.
Year 2010 The school officially became Ho Chi Minh City University of Food Industry under Decision No. 284/QD-TTg, establishing Ho Chi Minh City University of Food Industry by the Prime Minister.[3]
