Humanitas Academy of Art and Technology
Humanitas Academy of Art and Technology The Humanitas Academy of Art and Technology (HAAT) is an LAUSD pilot high school located in East Los Angeles, California. HAAT is one of five small pilot high schools established in 2010 as a part of LAUSD's Public School Choice program on the newly built Esteban E. Torres Campus. The Public School Choice Resolution was adopted by the Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD) Board of Education in 2009 to provide new opportunities for families and communities within LAUSD to improve their local schools. The campus was the first new high school campus to open in East Los Angeles in 80 years. The other pilot schools on the campus are East Los Angeles Renaissance Academy, East Los Angeles Performing Arts Magnet (ELAPA Magnet), Social Justice Leadership Academy (SJLA), and Engineering and Technology STEM Academy (ETA).
