IasaGlobal is a non-profit organization whose aim is to improve the quality of IT Architecture by providing education courses, a body of knowledge (ITABoK), certifications and engagement services. IASAGlobal is independent and agnostic of vendors and through local chapters, conferences and University Student Challenges, supports cross-organizational collaboration and community building for IT Architecture Professionals.

History

Originally established in 2002 as the International Association for Software Architects, there are members and local chapters in over 50 countries. IasaGlobal has offices in Austin, TX. Members participate in various on-line groups such as the Iasa Global LinkedIn group with more than 51,500 members.[1] Self-paced course topics developed by and with the members are available on-line as well as a calendar of instructor-led on-line or in-person delivered preparation courses. Regular e-Summits ae held to share knowledge. Basic membership is free and students discounts are available on Full Membership.

Motivation

A Software Architect or Solution Architect can take many years to achieve the highest levels of professional certification. [2] As this period may span many projects and even several employers, IASAGlobal supports the major milestones in an architect’s career through certification as they develop the necessary experience and broaden the needed range of skills and capabilities.

Certification

Career milestones equate to four levels that are certified by on-line exam or in-person peer board review. Social badges for each level are available by Acclaim.[3]
