In The Shadow of the Towers: Stuyvesant High on 9-11
In the Shadow of the Towers: Stuyvesant High on 9/11 is a short HBO documentary film featuring eight former students from Stuyvesant High School, located just blocks away from the World Trade Center.[1][2] [3]
Directed and produced by Emmy®-winner Amy Schatz, the film tells the story of the September 11 attack and its harrowing aftermath from the point of view of young teenagers who were there.[4][5][6] Now adults, many from immigrant families, the alumni speak about the backlash against minorities that followed the attack. It’s a film about how it felt to be a young person at ground zero and how the day forever changed the lives, and dreams, of eight former students and their families.
