Infoholic: (The news addict) is a 2017 Ukrainian comedy film directed by Valentyn Shpakov and Vladyslav Klimchuk. The film stars Yevhenii Yanovych and Olena Borozenets in the lead roles. The film tells the story of a guy who is addicted to his phone and reading the news. His addiction makes him unaware of his own life, but the madness unfolds when everything he reads starts to affect his own life.

Plot Summary[edit]

Maksim (Yevhenii Yanovych) works for an investment company. He is always glued to his phone, devouring information from numerous social media platforms. He believes he is required to keep up with everything that occurs in the world. He is married to Masha (Olena Borozenets).His obsession with the news causes him to overlook his own existence. He is completely oblivious to the fact that his marriage is in trouble. Masha is expecting a child and is desperate to inform Maksim, but he is lost in his own world. Things take a comic turn when Maksim finds every news he listens and reads has started to influence his life. Infoholic has a great message for the people who are too invested in the digital world that they have no idea what is happening in their own lives. The plot has no local binding and is relevant throughout the world.[1]

The film was produced by the TV channel NLO TV and co-produced by the Idea Production, the Mamahohotala Studio.The film shoots take place in the Kyiv Polytechnic Institute (KPI), real trolleybus in downtown Kyiv, at producer’s home.
