Inner-Southern Sydney also known as South Sydney is the metropolitan region directly to the south and south-east of the central business district in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia.
The region is not accurately defined and typically includes a number of suburbs in the local government area's of Bayside Council (suburbs making up the former local government area of the City of Botany Bay), City of Randwick (suburbs underneath Randwick and Coogee), and City of Sydney (suburbs underneath Surry Hills and Chippendale).
The Inner-Southern Suburbs of Sydney extends south from Surry Hills to the suburb of La Perouse.

Sporting Team[edit]
Sydney's Inner-South is represented in one of the most popular sporting competitions in Australia, the National Rugby League, by the Inner-South District Rugby League Football Club, the South Sydney Rabbitohs, one of the oldest and most iconic and popular Rugby League teams in Australia. The Rabbitohs have represented Sydney's Inner-South as its flagship team in a major sporting premiership, since the establishment of the club at the Redfern Town Hall in 1908. The Rabbitohs have had a major effect on the identity of Inner-Southern Sydney.
