History

Paul and Jacqueline founded InterHigh School in 2005.  Paul already a qualified secondary teacher and Jacqueline from a project management background perceived an opportunity for a fully online secondary school. Paul served as Head Teacher until 2018 when a re-structuring of responsibilities saw Wayne Owens appointed to the new post of Executive Head Teacher and Paul Daniel assume responsibility for Curriculum Innovation and Research.

InterHigh School was purchased by Wey Education, a London AIM listed company in 2015. The company headquarters following the acquisition located to the existing Wey Offices at  44-45 New Bond Street, Mayfair, London. The administrative Head Office of InterHigh remained in Crickhowell, Wales and close to the home of the founders. Educational governance of the school was subsequently formalised through the creation of an Academic Advisory Board led by Dame Erica Piennar and the ex Schools Commissioner for England, Elizabeth Sidwell.

In September 2017, Interhigh School migrated to a new digital platform based upon Instructure’s, Canvas Learning Management System. The school continued to seek opportunities for innovation and in 2018 joined the third cohort of the EU funded, EDUCATE programme administered by University College London. Later in the same year a three-year Knowledge Transfer collaboration with the University of South Wales was agreed. Dr. Daniel Williams joined the organisation to project manage the strategic deployment of artificial intelligence within the virtual school.
