Irina Dmitrievna Prokhorova (born in March 3 1956 a, Moscow) - Russian literary critic, editor-in-chief of the magazine [[[New Literary Review]] ”, publisher of , the head of the eponymous publishing house. The head of the party’s Federal Civil Committee “ Civil Platform” (2013–2014), the elder sister of a Russian businessman and politician Mikhail Prokhorov.

Father - Dmitry Ionovich Prokhorov, head of the Department of International Relations USSR State Sports Committee.

Mother - Tamara Mikhailovna Kumaritova, employee of the Department of Polymers Moscow Institute of Chemical Engineering.

Irina Dmitrievna responded about them as “ordinary Soviet employees” [2].

She graduated from Faculty of Philology Moscow State University named after MV Lomonosov,  United States (dissertation on the English literature modernism a). She worked in television, from the second half of the 1980s, in the journal Literary review ”.

In 1992 she founded the magazine “New Literary Review” and headed Publishing.

In 1996, she headed the literary award jury Russian Booker.

I was married, daughter Irina [3] - Executive Director of the Mikhail Prokhorov Foundation [4].

In June 2012, she refused to head the Public Council under the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation [5].

From 2012 to 2015, she led the author's program “Culture of everyday life” on Komsomolskaya Pravda Radio [6].From 2012 to 2017 she led the program “Irina Prokhorova. System of Values ​​”on RBC TV channel [7]. From 2018, it periodically comes to the program “Straight Line” TV channel “Rain” as an expert [8].

In December 2013, she was elected the head of the party’s Federal Civil Committee “ Civil Platform”.
