Istine i laži (Serbian Cyrillic: Истине и лажи; English: Truths and Lies) is a Serbian telenovela. It's Serbian version of Argentine telenovela Graduados.[1][2][3]
Plot[edit]
A group of high-school students graduates in late 1990s. Marina Božić is the girlfriend of Pavle Filipović, the school bully. When Marina sees Pavle having sex in the bathroom with another girl during the graduation party, she leaves the party. Nikola Isidorović accompanies her, and they have sex in his car. Marina becomes pregnant and her father, Rade Božić, owner of RB Group, a successful dog-food company, orders her to marry Pavle — unaware of her encounter with Nikola.
The first episode then makes a timeskip from 1990s to 2017. Pavle works for Rade's company, and Nikola is a slacker without a stable job who works as dog walker. Marina hires Nikola by chance, and remembers their 1990s encounter; a DNA test confirms that Nikola (not Pavle) is the father of her son, Arsenije. These events give the series its basic plot: Nikola tries to adjust to his newly discovered paternity, Pavle resents his intrusion, Arsenije tries to stay on good terms with both of them and Marina begins a romance with Nikola. Pablo cheats on her with Tatjana Milenković, another worker in RB Group, Rade's future wife. She becomes pregnant by Pavleo, but claims that Rade is her son's father.
Nikola's parents are Ilija and Dana, and his sister Tara works at RB Group and has been unlucky in love. Nikola maintains his friendship with two high-school classmates: Slobodan Kokot and Kristina Bajčetić, who runs a radio station which plays pop-rock music. Marina keeps in touch with her best friend in high school: psychiatrist Vanja Bakić, a single woman looking for a couple with whom to have a surrogate child. Nebojša Dakić, another classmate, takes a job at RB Group and comes out during a meeting of the graduates. Rade's future wife Tatjana is, unknown to everybody else, another classmate. Obese at school, she lost weight and changed her face and name Anastasija Benčić to Tatjana Milenković. She's here to take revenge to Pavle and Nebojša who bullied her at school. She had a huge crush on Pavle so she hates Marina.
Tatjana's secret is slowly revealed to the other characters. Pavle learns her true identity in the series finale, and he freaks out. He pushes her away and tells her that he doesn't loved her any more. She goes to the building roof, planning to jump... But will she? After Rade's heartattack ('cause he found out that the baby's father is Pavle), Arsenije runs RB Group. Nikola and Marina leave the city. Victoria is in love with Slobodan. Tara marries her neighbor, Žika.
Season 2 will be aired on Prva Srpska Televizija in September 2018 and it'll be based on Symmathites season 2.
