History[edit]

JSC Ingenium is a Telecommunications Engineering company founded in 1996 with 100% independent Spanish capital. It specialises in Network Core technologies for Mobile Operators (MNOs and MVNOs). It offers Mobile Operators a complete 3G/4G network infrastructure, as well as business support systems that enable operators to build a robust and comprehensive convergent value proposal.

JSC Ingenium has developed a complete layer of state of the art services on this network infrastructure: MVNO/E/A, M2M/IoT, PCC, TaaS and BSS.

JSC Ingenium deployed its complete Network Core Infrastructure for the first time in 2006 for Telecable, a Cable Operator providing a quadruple-play service in the region of Asturias (Spain).

In 2011, it launched Fullmovil -on the Virtualis network - commercially onto the market in Costa Rica, making it the first Full MVNO in the country and the entire Latin American region on JSC Ingenium's CORE R3 technology.

In 2013, as a result of its heavy investment in R+D+i, JSC Ingenium launched its suite of NGN Enablers onto the market. These are designed to give mobile operators a solution that provides them with smooth coexistence and stepped migration from 3G to 4G technologies, which has positioned JSC Ingenium as a world leader in the integration of 3G/4G projects.

In 2018, the private equity fund Alantra Private Equity Fund III acquired a majority stake in the capital of Grupo Ingenium Tecnología. The group was completed with the incorporation of 100% of Alineasol (specialising in the creation of technology for customer service and support systems for business), a company that has become an integral part of Grupo Ingenium.

JSC Ingenium currently has operational deployments in 11 countries (Colombia, Iran, Poland, Chile, Spain (HQ), Italy, Costa Rica, Switzerland, Mexico, Romania and Argentina) and its technology serves more than 60 Mobile Operators.

JSC Ingenium's technology has been designed completely in house, based on three basic criteria: flexibility to be able to adapt to any technical requirement from the client and any business scenario, scalability to massive growth in terms of the number of subscribers and transactions, and above all, cost effectiveness.

JSC Ingenium is a subsidiary of Grupo Ingenium Tecnologia, a holding company for telecommunications companies which was founded in 2010 in order to provide the necessary financial backing to guarantee the viability of the various brands and to allow new telecommunications projects to be undertaken, mainly involving the development of infrastructure and network services, in Fixed and Mobile Telephony. The subsidiary companies that make up Grupo Ingenium are: JSC Ingenium, Ingenium Outsourcing Services, Alai Secure and Suma Móvil.

Products and services[edit]

1.       MVNO technology:

JSC Ingenium's MVNO technology has a Full 3G/4G CORE Infrastructure, as well as a BSS (Business Support System), thereby offering clients a turn-key modular solution, easily and quickly deployable, from a very low entry level.

2.      MVNA/E technology:

JSC Ingenium has the most comprehensive and flexible Mobile Services Platform on the market, based on either the Aggregator or Enabler model. It is able to meet technical and business needs of both new brands wishing to start offering mobile telephony services, and brands that are already offering a service and want to enhance their flexibility and independence and start offering a service as Full MVNOs. It enables the service to be operated in an effective and scalable way, from very low entry levels, providing a rapid development of new multi-country and multi-brand services, and managing each brand completely independently.

3.      M2M/IoT platform:

JSC Ingenium has an M2M/IoT services Platform. A comprehensive solution - Core + BSS - developed entirely in-house by JSC Ingenium. It is designed for Mobile Operators to deal flexibly, quickly and cost effectively with different M2M communication needs of companies, integrators and device manufacturers, providing a high level of customisation according to the specific needs of each vertical.

JSC Ingenium's M2M/IoT technology has been designed and developed based on JSC's in-depth knowledge of the Mobile Operators Network and its proven experience in the deployment and operation of vertical M2M services including security, e-health, vending, elevators, authentication and safe opening.  This combination means that it can offer Operators a cost-competitive solution to meet the needs of their local clients, as well as international Multi-Country strategies.

4.      TaaS -Telco as a Service

JSC Ingenium's Telco as a Service solution gives clients a complete geo-redundant Core infrastructure - OSS + BSS - in the cloud to provide 2G, 3G and 4G mobile telephony services, with no need to make major investments, guaranteeing levels of service, security, flexibility, availability, capacity, ubiquity, and immediacy .... and ensuring independence in management among all brands.

5.       Policy and Charging Control:

Firewatch is JSC Ingenium's Policy and Charging solution. Its high level of flexibility enables Operators, among others, to create their own pricing plans quickly and very simply and to design promotional campaigns in a matter of hours, by the same marketing and sales teams, with no need for specialised technical personnel. And most importantly, it enables the creation, billing and collection of convergent rates - mobile, fixed, internet, TV, etc., and further services (e.g. electricity, gas) can be added quickly and easily.

Firm commitment to R+D[edit]

JSC Ingenium continuously invests a significant part of its resources in R+D+i projects, either with its own financing or through public financing, which places it at the cutting edge and means that it can always offer its clients the latest technology at all times.

The company's own R+D projects:  CORE R3: Network Core for full virtual mobile network operators.

Official R+D projects: "CDTI - Centre for Technological and Industrial Development," a public enterprise institution within the Spanish Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness, has supported three projects since 2010, certifying them as R+D:

-         NGN INTEGRATION SERVER. Research on new generation services and applications platforms

-         MAP IWF Advanced CSFB/SRVCC. New procedures for managing calls and messages on 4G and 3G networks.

-         CORE R5. New tools for the technological transition to Tier 1 operators.
