Jeannette Ng (吳志麗) is a British fantasy writer best known for her 2017 novel Under the Pendulum Sun.

Ng was born in Hong Kong, and now lives in the United Kingdom in Durham, England.

Writing[edit | edit source]

Her 2017 debut novel Under the Pendulum Sun, published by Angry Robot,[1][2][3] was shortlisted for the 2017 Brave New Words award from Starburst.[4] It was named one of the "10 Best Sci-Fi and Fantasy Books of 2017" by SYFY[5] and was included on a list of "The best science fiction and fantasy of 2017" in The Guardian.[1] The book features a fantastical journey that takes place in gothic mid-19th century England.[6]

Her short stories have been published in Mythic Delirium[7] and Shoreline of Infinity[8] magazines, and her story "How the Tree of Wishes Gained its Carapace of Plastic"[9] is included in the anthology Not So Stories, to be published April 2018 (Abaddon Books, ISBN 978-1781086124).[10]

Ng is a finalist for the 2018 John W. Campbell Award for Best New Writer.[11]
