Jerel Jemer Nance (Rel Money)

From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

Jerel Jemer “Rel Money" Nance (born December 11, 1990) is an American talent manager and businessman from Duluth, Georgia. He manages hip-hop recording trio Migos; Quavo, Takeoff, and Offset.

Career[edit]

Nance first encountered Migos attending Berkmar High School in Gwinnett County, Georgia.  Nance began his career by organizing Migos performances in clubs throughout Atlanta. After booking shows at clubs like the now-defunct Belushi’s and Obsessions, Nance started to field inquiries about booking the Migos for shows at colleges. In 2013, Nance was instrumental in signing Migos to Atlanta-based record label Quality Control and partnering with co-managers Coach K and Pee on all things Migos.

In media[edit]

Nance appeared in The FADER in Issue 95 in November 2014, titled “The Now Issue”. Writer Leon Neyfakh wrote, “Everyone returns their equipment and pays, and the paintball facility's lanky, dad-like owner takes the opportunity to ask Jerel Nance, Migos' manager and friend since childhood, to describe "the band" in three sentences or less. "We make hits," Jerel says, and pretty much leaves it at that.”[1]

Nance was interviewed by Mark Winne of WSB-TV, a major television network in Atlanta, in December of 2015 following Offset’s release from jail. When asked about the Migos’ pleas to the reduced charges, Nance said to Winne, “God got a plan, you can’t never stop it.”[2]

Nance was on set of Complex's Everyday Struggle interview with the Migos at the 2017 BET Awards, where Joe Budden and Migos became involved in a non yet near-physical confrontation. Nance is seen entering the frame at the far-right at 0:48 of the video.[3]

In May of 2018, Nance was interviewed by Atlanta Magazine, where it was written "Childhood friend Jerel Nance became their [Migos'] first manager, drove them to clubs like Belushi’s and Obsessions, and shot their album covers with his iPhone camera."[4]

Personal life[edit]

Nance was born in Lawrenceville, Georgia. Nance attended Stevenson Middle School and Berkmar High School. He spent a year in Flint, Michigan his freshman year of high school. The following year, he moved back to Georgia, continued at Berkmar, and began recording with the Migos in Quavo’s mother’s basement, where he assumed the role of manager.

He lives in Atlanta with his family.

Charitable work[edit]

Nance remains engaged with his community. Most recently, he organized a Thanksgiving turkey drive at 799 Hutchins Road on November 17th, 2017 in Atlanta, Georgia.[5]
