Ji Bo Azadiyê (2019) also known as The End Will Be Spectacular, is a war feature film shot in the Kurdistan of Syria, based on real characters and events about the 100 days resistance in Diyarbakir district, in Sur [1]. It is directed by Ersin Çelik, written by Ersin Çelik and Aysun Genç, produced by Diyar Hesso and Ersin Çelik and it is a co-production of Rojava Film Commune (Northern Syria), AlbaSotorra S.L. (Spain) and Demkat Films(Iraq).
Plot[edit]
The movie is a war feature shot in the Kurdistan of Syria, in the middle of the armed conflict. The film tells the real story of resistance of a group of young people who faced the army to defend their neighborhood and it is written based on the diaries of those who died and the testimony of the survivors, who also act in the film.[2]
The protagonist is Zilan, a young woman who returns to her hometown looking for the memory of her dead brother, to find herself involved in a violent fight against the police and the army. The film explores universal concepts such as hope, friendship, sacrifice and loss in the struggle for freedom of a group of young people.[3]

Ji Bo Azadiyê was world released in the 25th edition of the Kolkata International Film Festival, in Kolkata, Índia. The premiere took place the 11th of November, 2019 at 19:30 p.m.[4]
