Joanne Allen is an English actress, born in Carlton, Nottingham. Allen has had many guest , leading and semi regular roles in TV shows as well as appearances on stage and on film.

Career

Allen studied drama for 2 years at Clarendon College, Nottingham and then went on to Manchester Metropolitan University School of Theatre where she studied for 3 years. She then toured for 2 years in and around Bristol with Avon Touring Theatre Company, performing original and highly acclaimed work. Joanne Allen has recently written an original screenplay, 'Fetching Nellie', detailing her mother's life, from the end of the war until her final descent into mental collapse and loneliness.

She recently completed a film role in ' Typist Artist Pirate King ', about the life of the artist Audrey Amiss, directed by Carol Morley for the British Film Institute/Cannon & Morley Productions. (2021/2022)
