Johannes von Salmuth

Johannes Freiherr von Salmuth (born February 23, 1966 in Heidelberg) is a German family businessman and chairman of the supervisory bodies of the Röchling Group and Chairman of the Shareholders' Committee of Aluminium Werke Wutöschingen AG & Co. KG and Richter Aluminium GmbH.[1]

Life and work[edit]

Johannes Freiherr von Salmuth was born in Heidelberg to Wigand Freiherr von Salmuth and his wife Ingrid, nee von Mengersen, and is the youngest of four children. He is married and himself has four children. After graduating in Economics from the University of Bonn in 1993, Salmuth worked for an auditing firm and as a management consultant in Berlin until 2002. Since 2000, he has been a member of the Shareholders' Committee and the Advisory Board of the Röchling Group,[2] becoming chairman of both boards in 2008 and 2011, respectively. He has been a member of the executive board of Aluminium Werke Wutöschingen since 2002, before becoming the supervisory board chairman in July 2018.[3] Since 2011, Freiherr von Salmuth has been a member of the board of the Die Familienunternehmer association, where he has been the vice president since 2013.[4]
