John Cervenka[edit]

John Kilian Cervenka (born September 30, 1959) is an American businessman and CEO of Starfish Social Media, Inc..

Early Career[edit]

Cervenka had been an Institutional Investment Advisor with Wall Street investment firm, Morgan Stanley. Prior to that, Cervenka was very active in the entertainment industry as a television producer, writer and actor. He got his start out of college while a performing member of the prestigious improvisational comedy troupe, The Groundlings. While at The Groundlings, he performed with the likes of Will Ferrell and Lisa Kudrow. He was the announcer of the hit dating show Love Connection for numerous seasons and ultimately hosted, produced and was a writer on the highbred comedy gameshow, Burt Luddin's Love Buffet on the Game Show Network (GSN). Cervenka appeared in episodes of numerous TV series Cheers , According To Jim and Ellen. Cervenka was the Executive Producer and Creator of Random Acts of Comedy staring David Alan Grier on Fox Family Channel.

Most Extreme Elimination Challenge (MXC)[edit]

Cervenka is well known as being part of the creative team behind the hit Spike TV series MXC. He was a series producer, writer and lead Voice Over performer on MXC.

Personal life[edit]

Cervenka was born in Pasadena, California as the last of six children. He attended San Marino High School and went on to study at the University of Southern California and then the Thunderbird School of Global Management. While at (USC) he was a member of the Sigma Chi fraternity and played on the school's Rugby team.

Cervenka's father, John Wm Cervenka, attended Harvard University and was an accomplished businessman in California. His brother, Jay Wm Cervenka, a successful businessman and radio personality, took over as the announcer of the tv series The Love Connection when John was hired by Sony Pictures Television to work on various tv projects.

In June of 1986, Cervenka married Kerry Kostlan. They reside in Southern California and have 4 grown children. John Wm Cervenka II, Franklyn K Cervenka, Georgia J Cervenka and Lilah K Cervenka.
