Johnny Taylor or Johnny Taylor, Jr. (born March 5, 1977) is an American stand up comedian and writer from Sacramento, CA. He currently lives in Los Angeles, CA.[1]
Taylor is best known for his comedy album Tangled Up in Plaid on Stand Up! Records.
Personal life[edit]
Taylor was born in Riverside, CA on March 5, 1977. After dropping out of High School in 9th grade, Taylor started boxing and fought as an amateur for the Police Athletic League and Golden Gloves in his teenage years.[2] He started stand-up comedy in 2011.
He currently lives in Los Angeles, CA.
Career[edit]
In 2013, Taylor signed a three-album deal with Stand Up! Records and released his debut album Tangled Up in Plaid in 2014.[3] He recorded his second album Bummin' With the Devil in 2016 with a tentative release date of Fall 2018.[4]
In 2016 he was named a finalist for @midnight's #PointsMe contest, ultimately losing out to Richard Jeter.[5][6]

Taylor has performed at SF Sketchfest, The Hell Yes Fest in New Orleans, Sacramento Comedy Spot, The Sacramento Comedy Festival, Altercation Fest in Austin, The Asheville Comedy Festival, and has competed in the San Francisco Comedy Competition.[15][16][17][18]
