José-Apeles Santolaria de Puey y Cruells, known by his pen name "Padre Apeles", (Barcelona) is a Spanish television presenter, journalist, writer, lawyer and catholic priest.
Santolaria de Puey started working at Radio Miramar of Barcelona and Radiocadena española of Barcelona.[1][2]. He also worked for the french magazine Point de vue et images du monde and Vatican Radio.
He studied at the Pontifical Gregorian University, Diplomatic School of Spain and University of Barcelona and got many university degrees: Law, Canon Law, History, Criminology, Political science, Geography and History, Humanities and International Relations.[citation needed] He was ordained priest in Rome by cardinal Pietro Palazzini in 1993[3]. He is also a retired Captain of the Spanish Army[4]
He worked for Spanish radio (Cadena S.E.R., Onda Rambla, RAC1) and television channels, specially for Telecinco, where he directed his own show, called Cita con Apeles. He acted in the film Modelos (2015).
He has written five books about the Vatican and Church history.
