Jose Martinez-Diaz, Ph.D., BCBA-D, Cuban-American licensed behavior analyst. He established the School of Behavior Analysis[1] at Florida Institute of Technology. Martinez-Diaz is also an adjunct professor in Penn State’s Department of Special Education. Martinez-Dias is the founder and CEO of ABA Technologies, Inc.[2]

Martinez-Diaz[3] received his Ph.D. in 1984 from the West Virginia University Department of Psychology. He began his career as a clinical psychologist and behavior analyst in the state- and community-run agencies working with people with developmental disabilities.

Professor Martinez-Diaz served as an officer and board member of the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB). He is known for establishing the professional licensure and credentialing system for behavior analysts in the state of Florida and nationwide, and developing Florida Institute of Technology's impressive range of behavior analytic graduate and professional development programs.

Beginning in 1999, his company ABA Technologies, Inc. and the Florida Institute of Technology partnered to provide high-quality training to pre-service behavior analysts through in-person and online coursework.[4][5]

In 2007, Martinez-Diaz began an online Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA Online) program to reach international audiences and train professionals for board certification in behavior analysis.[6] Later, a hybrid Master’s program was added to offer half online and half in-person training and work experience for students across the United States. All of Florida Tech's Behavior Analysis programs and course sequences are accredited by the Association for Behavior Analysis International[7] and Behavior Analysis Certification Board.[8]

As founder, program director, and professor of behavior analytic programs at Florida Institute of Technology, Martinez-Diaz has developed Florida Tech's comprehensive instructional curriculum that trains behavior analysts across the world and prepares them to sit for the national Behavior Analysis Certification Board (BACB) exam.

Martinez-Diaz is a sought-after expert, consultant, and presenter on topics of ethical conduct for professionals working with persons with disabilities,[9][10] professional development and graduate training,[11] K-12 education, online education, and instructional technology, and clinical applied behavior analysis. He is regularly invited to speak nationally and internationally on introducing new professional standards to pre-service and clinical training, improving professional development and graduate education opportunities, encouraging ethical conduct amongst behavior analysts,[12] clarifying behavior analytic terms and procedures and developing innovative online learning experiences for international dissemination.
