Leadership skills to emulate from Canon Josephine Kasha, Kanungu District Chairperson, in Uganda

Josephine Kasha has been the Kanungu District Chairperson ever since the district was created in July 2001. she has managed to retain this Local Government seat as LC V Chairperson for Kanungu District. The district is composed of 13 Sub Counties and 4 town councils namely, Kanungu, Butogota, Kambuga and Kihihi Town Councils with 53 Parishes and 16 wards, and 517 villages. The question is what drives her capacity to campaign and win votes from all these Sub Counties and town councils which make up the Kanungu district?

At one time Josephine Kasha was the only female District Chairperson in Uganda. She has inspired other women in Uganda to compete for the position of district and division chairpersons, such that she is no longer alone in the local governance at that level. Other women who have succeeded to take leadership positions at that level include Hon. Salaam Musumba formerly Chairperson of kamuli District and Joyce Ssebuggwaawo of Rubaga Division in Kampala Capita City Authority. Canon Josephine has always managed to bounce back to that position, through the tough elections which are normally very vigorous and male dominated. (I need to do more research on Canon Josephine Kasha; the information on the internet was very limited)
