In 2021, Mobley was interviewed by Randi Zuckerberg about his work in user interface sound design.[7]

In an interview with Fast Company about Software and sound design, Mobley said: "I've often argued that notification sounds are your branding. If you get a notification from Facebook, you know what that sound is. The developers of popular applications have the opportunity to make these iconic sounds which can let other people know, for good or ill, what applications you are using. It's a way to communicate without any kind of visual presentation."
