Kū'ē (book)
Kū'ē (book) depicts thirty years of land struggles in Hawai'i. Photographs by Ed Greevy. Greevy's photographic essay is accompanied by an introduction and captions by Native Hawaiian political leader and professor, Haunani-Kay Trask.[1]
"Driven by a deep concern for economic justice and civil rights, [Ed Greevy] recorded the struggle for human dignity in thousands of black and white photographs. No mere observer from a distance, Ed entered into our lives as an ally on the ground. As these deeply unsettling photographs reveal, his camera became a voice, speaking no only behalf of indigenous Hawaiians, but for the wretched of the earth as well."
