KG Jayan

KG Jayan is a cinematographer working in Malayalam cinema. He has won the National Film Award for the non-fiction film 18th ELEPHANT and Kerala State Film Award twice for the films DANY and SOOFI PARANJA KATHA. He had been working as Deputy Director in C-Dit since 1990.

Early life and education Born in Alapad, Thrissun on October 27, 1956. Completed school education from Govt LP School, Alappad, Govt Boys High School, Pettah, and Govt Model School, Trivandrum. Studied Pre-Degree at Govt Arts College, Trivandrum, graduated in Chemistry from Mar Ivanios College, MSW from Loyola College of Social Sciences. Completed Diploma in Cinematography from Film & Television Institute of India, Pune in 1984. Started film career assisting Shaji N Karun in Panchavadipalam, followed by Chidambaram and Oridath.
