Kanika Sharma Inglett

Dr. Kanika Sharma Inglett is a research assistant professor of environmental microbiology at the University of Florida in the Soil and Water Sciences Department and has been teaching at the University in the Soil and Water Sciences Department since 1999 at both the graduate and undergraduate levels. Dr. Inglett's research focus is currently on the effects of climate change and environmental pollutants on environmental processes, as well as microbial ecology in wetlands.[1][2]

Educational Background[edit]

Dr. Inglett obtained a Bachelor of Science in Botany from the University of Delhi (1994), and two Masters of Science in Biochemical Technology (1995) and Agrochemical and Pest Management (1997) from the University of Delhi. In December of 2002, Dr. Inglett received a Ph.D in Soil and Water Sciences, with a minor in Microbiology, from the University of Florida.[3]

  • Florida Department of Energy (2007-2008) for the summary and synthesis of the available literature on the effects of nutrients on spring organisms and systems.
  • Everglades National Park (2008-2011) for the patterns of soil biogeochemistry in the hole-in-the-donut region with implications for restoration management.
