Kargil International Film Festival (Kargil IFF) is an annual film event held in Kargil, Jammu & Kashmir, India. The first edition of this film festival was held in May, 2012. Kargil International Film Festival (Kargil IFF) is organized by DBG Film Club in collaboration with Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council Kargil and Student Educational Movement of Kargil.[1]

About Kargil IFF[edit | edit source]

For the first time in 2012, Kargil celebrates its first Kargil International Film Festival (Kargil IFF). The name Kargil is still associated with being a warzone. However, the war is long over and we are yet to overcome it. Through Kargil International Film Festival (Kargil IFF), we aim to bridge that vacuum and globally showcase the beautiful, unexplored paradise of Kargil.

Kargil IFF – 2012[edit | edit source]

“Kargil Film Festival (Awam Ka Cinema)” was organized in the year 2012. It was 2 days film festival where various Bollywood Actors, Actress and Dignitaries participated which was a huge success. Folk Dance, Photography & Essay competition was also held in the fest.

Kargil IFF – 2017[edit | edit source]

Kargil IFF 2017 was organized from 21[2] to 23 August 2017[3][4] in Kargil, Jammu & Kashmir.[5][6] The venue of the Film Festival was Syed Mehdi Memorial Hall in Kargil. 1150 Films from 29 countries have been received as entries to the festival under Feature film, Documentaries, Animation and Shorts categories. From which 85 films has screened and most of the films are from India, Iran, USA, France, Italy, Spain, U.K., Turkey, Russia, Brazil, Germany, Argentina, Bangladesh, Canada, Portugal, Austria, Maxico, Poland Australia, Indonesia,[7][8] etc. [9] [10] [11]

About DBG Film Club[edit | edit source]

DBG Film Club (Darbhanga Film Club) is a national level non-profitable organization registered under trust act, Government Of India, which works in the field of art & culture involving films & media activities since 2013. Since then the organization has contributed & conducted many social festivals, events and made them successful all over India.
