Karl Atticus

From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

Karl Atticus was an underground Maryland director in the late 60s and early 70s. He directed two slasher films, both inspired by books written in the 1920s.

Mortal Remains (1972)[edit]

Filmed in Baltimore, Maryland, Mortal Remains was the second film that was created by Atticus. The movie struck much controversy, as it was said to be extremely disturbing. Most people that watched it choose not to talk about it. It was so horrible that a crowd of people took the film reel and lit it on fire. That being the only copy, no one is certain what the movie was really about. Some clips have surfaced, but it's not been confirmed if it was a hoax or not.

Many weird happenings took place while the movie was being filmed. Multiple cast and crew members went missing. While filming a scene in a morgue, Atticus put a real dead body in a body bag as a gruesome prank. He was later accused of grave robbing, murder, and necrophilia.

After Career[edit]

Karl Atticus disappeared from the public eye for an entire year until he committed suicide in 1973. His house, located in Baltimore County, burned down in 1976 and destroyed all remaining pieces of the movie and its props.

Atticus lost all the popularity he once had, and is now mostly forgotten.
