The Karlovci Film Festival (KFF) is one of the major annual events taking place in Sremski Karlovci, Serbia each year. It is one of the youngest international film festivals in Serbia. It is part of a programme of Novi Sad 2022 European Capital of Culture.[1] Entry to all festival programs is free of charge. Previous festival editions were financially supported by the Municipality of Sremski Karlovci, Ministry of Culture and Information (Serbia), and Government of Vojvodina, Provincial Secretariat for Culture.[2]
The Festival is competitive with the jury awarding several prizes each year, most notably for the Best Domestic and International Short Film.[3]
It is organized annually by the students of University of Novi Sad, from the filmmaking department of Academy of Arts Novi Sad. It features three distinct categories, from which two are competitive, and combines features and short films; fiction, documentary, animation, and experimental. The festival is open to all filmmakers from around the world and it also accepts student works.[4]

The festival was held for the first time in 2018. Since then it has been held annually in Sremski Karlovci.[5] The Festival has two competitive, and a third, non-competitive program, in which it screens Serbian premieres of acclaimed films.[6]
Awards[edit]
Laureates of Karlovci Film Festival award for special contribution to Serbian film are Aleksandar Berček for 2019, Žarko Laušević for 2020, and Goran Marković for 2021.[7]
