Kastraki Trikalon

The village of Kastraki is part of the county of Trikala and is located near Kalabaka, on the road to Meteora.Today it belongs to the municipality of Meteora and according to the population cencus of 2010, it has 1.203 residents.It was created during the Turkish Domination period due to the union of smaller settlements that took refuge there in order to get away from Ali Pasha. The village took its name from a castle. Before the war it sustained the rural image of the greek plains. Today it evolved into a place where lots of people go to visit Meteora.
