Kate Noakes

Kate Noakes is a Welsh poet and short fiction writer. She has degrees in Geography, and English Literature from the University of Reading, and an MPhil in Creative Writing from the University of South Wales. She has taught creative writing for Oxford University and the Poetry School.

Her website.[1] was selected for archiving by the National Library of Wales[2] as it represents a significant contribution to Welsh literary culture.

She has published six books of poetry: Ocean to Interior (Mighty Erudite Press, 2007), The Wall Menders (Two Rivers Press, 2009), Cape Town (Eyewear Publishing, 2012), I-spy and Shanty (corrupt press, 2014), Tattoo on Crow Street (Parthian, 2015) and Paris, Stage Left (Eyewear Publishing, 2017). The Filthy Quiet is forthcoming from Parthian in 2019.

She was elected to the Welsh Academy of Letters as a notable writer of Wales in 2011.[citation needed]

She lives in London, UK, where she is a trustee of the literature development organisation, Spread the Word[3]. She reviews poetry collections for amongst other magazines, The North[4]
