Born in Long Island, NY, Katie Metal moved to Florida at five years old and has lived there ever since. Beginning in first grade, she told everyone she would grow up to be a singer. Through the years, she sang in school/church choirs, talent shows, and everywhere else she could. She also acquired a love for dance, joining dance teams and taking dance classes in various styles. The love she has for everything musical brought her to also join her high school marching band, playing front ensemble/percussion and participating in color guard. As she got older, Katie attended college and received a degree in Criminal Justice, she felt like she was veered away from pursuing what she really wanted to do. Katie then involved herself again in music and became a promoter for DJs/artists in the Orlando music scene. Katie showed the universe her commitment to music and accepted to join a band called Latitude28. As she performed with the band, she began to grow her confidence in her dreams. She has traveled on three US/International tours with Latitude28. She is also a part of a reality TV show called “Making it with Latitude28” about the emerging band. Right now, as an Orlando artist/performer, Katie is working on developing her own style. She writes her songs around powerful messages, positive reinforcements and past experiences. Katies goal is to share her story with the world and inspire others to believe in themselves.
