Kelia Moniz Termini (b. February 5, 1993) is a Hawaiian-American professional surfer, and a two-time ASP Women’s World Longboard champion.[2] [3] She is most well known as a member of the notable Moniz family of California.[4]

Competition[edit]

While both parents Tammy and Tony Moniz are teaching surf with their two older sons, Micah and Isaiah, in different parts of the Hawaiian island, Moniz and her two younger brothers Joshua and Seth Moniz are competing on the International scale.[4]

After starting surfing competitions in 2010 at age 17, Moniz consecutively won the ASP Women’s World Longboard Championship in 2012 and 2013.

She ranked 1st at the 2012’s Australian Longboard Surfing Open in Kingscliff, New South Wales, Australia[5] and at the 2013’s Swatch Girls Pro China in Wanning, Hainan Island, China.[6]

She then ranked 2nd at the 2014’s Australian Longboard Surfing Open in Kingscliff, New South Wales, Australia, then placed 5th at the 2016’s Women’s Cancer Institute NSW Pro. She ranked 20th at the 2019’s Noosa Longboard Open in Noosa, Queensland, Australia. In 2020, she ranked 17th at the Noosa Longboard Open in Noosa, Queensland, Australia.[7]

Personal Life[edit]

She is the only sister amongst four other Moniz brothers.[8][9]

In February 2017, Kelia married Joseph (Joe) Termini, a photographer from New York. Kelia and her husband Joe Termini have one child.[10]
