Kerajaan Sungai Pagu

The Sungai Pagu Kingdom is a kingdom that was founded in 1301 AD in the South Solok area now marked by the entry of Islam for the first time at that time. In the second decade of Islamization of the 17th century AD brought by Gujarat and Minangkabau Muslims, Dobin points out that all the high-ranking officials and lower ranks of the port at that time were already Muslims. The full name of this kingdom is the Surambi Sungai Pagu Kingdom. The Kingdom of Alam Surambi Sungai Pagu is centered in Pasir Talang (South Solok) and the other side is Bandar Ten. This kingdom stretched from Surian to the XII region of Koto (Sangir). Currently the king of the Sungai Pagu Kingdom is on a vacuum after the death of the late Zulkarnain Daulat Yang Dipertuan Bagindo Sultan Besar Tuanku Rajo Disambah who had a meeting with the incumbent king of the Pagaruyung Kingdom, namely H. Sultan Muhammad Taufik Thaib, SH Daulat Yang Dipertuan Tuanku Mudo Mahkota Alam Minangkabau. Pagaruyung is a Nagari located on the threshold of Batusangkar, the current capital of Tanah Datar Regency in West Sumatra. From Tambo's source, Nagari Pagaruyung was once the capital of the Pagaruyung Kingdom called the Jambu Lipo Kingdom (Bukit Jambu). The origin of the name Jambu Lipo from Jan bu lupo which means "Don't Forget Mother". The Jambu Lipo Kingdom was founded on 20 Rajab 288 Hijriyah with the religion of Islam at that time[1][2][3][4].
