Kevin Swan

From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

Kevin Swan is co founder of Italian fashion brand SCARCI, a luxury brand made in Italy that offers lightweight travel wear, crafted from high-end fabrics.[1]

Early life[edit]

American-born Kevin Swan grew up in Atlanta.[2] His father was radio and TV broadcaster Randy Swan and his grandfather was country music singer Jimmy Swan.[3]

Swan studied advertising at college setting his sights on becoming a creative or art director. While at college, he was approached by well-known music producer Maurice Starr, who was responsible for pop bands such as New Kids on the Block and New Edition. He invited him to audition for his new band. Swan was selected from around 500 other people and the boy band 6 Piece was established in 1999.[1]

Music career[edit]

6 Piece, described as a “pop-crossover act” by Billboard magazine[4], was then signed to Master P and his label No Limit Records.

Swan continued to work in the music business for around five years before returning to the advertising industry in 2004.[1]

He spent the next 9 years building and running his own design company until he sold it in 2013.[1]

Fashion career[edit]

In early 2015[1], Swan joined forces with his partner to launch the luxury fashion brand SCARCI.[5]

Swan spent the next year traveling the world researching factories and fabrics before deciding on Milan as the city to open the SCARCI design house and develop the brand that focuses on Italian craftsmanship. He partnered with Italian fabric manufacturers The Albini Group and other factories in Bergamo, Bologna and Prato, Italy.[2] All of the brand’s shirts are made from linen, cotton, and silk.[1]

In July 2016, Swan launched SCARCI during New York Men’s Fashion Week.[2]

Swan is currently VP of Operations at SCARCI.[2]
