KhelPlay Rummy
KhelPlay Rummy is an Online Rummy platform that is available on the computer and mobile interface. KhelPlay Rummy was initially released as an Online Rummy website in the year 2012, developed by Sachar Gaming Private Limited. A mobile based application was launched later on, for Android and iOS platforms. KhelPlay Rummy was the first platform to launch a Cash Rummy Application, which allows for users to deposit funds and then wager on the deposited funds.

Tournaments[edit]
In year 2017, Rummy Tournaments were launched as part of game play in the KhelPlay Rummy. As rummy is a competitive game, the tournaments were launched to improve the users experience and allow them to wager and win larger amounts of funds. Currently the application and hosts weekly and monthly tournaments, along with festive tournaments regularly. The tournaments are sometimes limited to the number of participants, but most of the times, the tournaments are open entry, and require for the player to pay an entry fee to participate. The platform offers a variety of tournaments for users to choose from, depending on their preferences.[1]
Legality[edit]
Gambling or wagering on games of chance was regulated under the Public Gambling Act, 1867, and as of today the same is the central law on the subject. Owing to this, a lot of backlash was faced by the online rummy games community and this act served as a barricade for illicit gambling activities. However, in 2015, the Hon' Supreme Court of India, declared Rummy a skilled based game, and not a chance based game, thus completely exempting Rummy from this law. Thus, the power to legislate lies solely with the state governments of each particular states. Owing to this provision in law, playing Online Rummy and wagering funds on those games is completely legal in most of the Indian states, barring a few exemptions of Telangana, Assam and Odisha. Rummy is a game of skill and not chance, of the many variables required to win in Rummy only one is dependent of chance, all the other variables are skill based, like strategies, counting cards and so on. Thus Rummy doesn't fall in the descriptions of Gambling games as provided by the Hon' Supreme Court of India, in 1996, making it completely legal and can be played throughout the country, barring the few states.[3]
