Kiiah Kiiah is an online experiential gifting platform. Through Kiiah, you can receive gifted funds from friends and family to help you achieve your goals and aspirations. Kiiah has helped countless of people turn their passions into realities. Some examples include but are not limited to: paying for medical school, taking a vacation, saving up for a house etc. Kiiah is trying to solve the problem of unwanted gifting, wasted finances and gifters' stress.

History[edit]

Located in the heart of downtown Kitchener, Waterloo Region startup district, Kiiah has been a functioning business since early 2015. The founder of Kiiah, Hayden Dent, diverted fields and after over thirty years in other businesses, he decided to start a new venture that was more meaningful to him. After years of receiving gift cards and useless gifts that continually went unused, the idea of Kiiah was born. As of August 15th 2018, Kiiah made its official relaunch, where the company changed the entire platform.

Business Model[edit]

Kiiah is a more privatized platform in comparison to other crowdfunding sites that are open to the general public. Through Kiiah, "Wishers" are able to create a Wish in 3 steps: 1.) create a personalized Wishspace 2.) share the link with friends and family ("Contributors") 3.) start receiving gifted funds directly to their bank accounts. Kiiah is a private gift registry, therefore a users personal registry is only accessible by invitation through a secure link. Users can send personalized invitations and thank-you messages to friends and family from within Kiiah's platform. Kiiah applies a 5.95% transparent fee on each contribution made to a Wishspace. Out of this percentage, their payments processor partner: “Stripe”, receives 2.9% of the overall transaction, plus $0.30 for each transaction processed through Kiiah. Through this revenue model Kiiah is able to remain ad free so that ‘Wishers’ can focus predominantly on raising funds.
