This is a Korean name; the family name is Kim.

Kim Boyoung (Hangul 김보영; born 1975) is a South Korean science fiction writer.

Her first published novella "The Experience of Touch" (촉각의 경험) won the first annual Science and Technology Writing Competition organized in 2004 by the Dong-A Ilbo and the Korean Foundation for the Advancement of Science and Creativity. Her first full length novel Seven Executioners (7인의 집행관) won the grand prize in the first annual Korean SF Awards in 2014.[1] Kim Boyoung has three collections of stories published in South Korea, and her works have been included in many collaborative volumes, online magazines, and literary quarterlies. She also creates webtoons and grows produce on a smallholding in rural Gangwon Province.

I'm Waiting for You (당신을 기다리고 있어), a novella published in South Korea in 2015 as a stand-alone volume was presented at the PEN Presents East and Southeast Asia event organized by English PEN in 2017.[2] An epistolary novel on an intergalactic scale, it tells the story of an engaged couple trying to meet for their wedding despite huge distances and upheavals.

Kim Boyoung's first work to appear in English translation was "An Evolutionary Myth" (진화신화), published in Clarkesworld Magazine in a translation by Gord Sellar and Jihyun Park.
