Kink Doctor is a US-based Web series created and hosted by Kink Doctor (KD), also known as Dulcinea Pitagora, launched to provide a new, accessible platform for the kink community and people who engage in BDSM [1][2]. In each episode, KD and co-host Bastard Keith (Abe Goldfarb) introduce viewers to a new person and a new story. In the conversations that ensue, guests, who are self-identified members of the kink community, share their experiences with kink and BDSM, and discuss how these experiences have impacted their lives. Episodes are available on the show’s website and through Vimeo On Demand.

The show lifts the veil on kink and BDSM through conversations punctuated by banter between KD and Bastard Keith. Through humor, Kink Doctor rejects the way kink is so often stereotyped as overly scary or serious, emphasizing the fun and funny alongside the sexy and strict.

Episodes[edit]

Season 1 will have 9 episodes. Only details for the pilot are available at this time.

Episode 1[edit]

Domina Dia Dynasty and Transformational Domination..[2] Release Date: June 5, 2017 KD and Bastard Keith are joined by self-identified kink community member Domina Dia Dynasty to discuss coming out of the kink closet, good shame vs. bad shame, and her practice of transformational domination.

Cast:[edit]

KD (Dulcinea Pitagora) hosts the series and fills the role of executive producer. KD is a queer/poly/kink-identified, female-bodied, gender fluid, licensed psychotherapist and certified sex therapist practicing in New York City[3]. KD is also the co-producer of the Alt Sex NYC Conference [4] and Sexuality Speaker Series [5]. KD has been a member and mentor of the NYC kink scene for over a decade, and previously worked as a professional dominatrix[6]

Co-host Bastard Keith (Abe Goldfarb) joins KD in each episode, bringing his unique brand of humor and levity to the conversation. Bastard Keith is a burlesque MC, a theater and film actor, and a voice actor who has appeared on Pokemon. He is a familiar face at The Slipper Room and has emceed events for VICE and Bacardi, and hosted Revealed Burlesque for its entire run[7]. As an out submissive male, Bastard Keith brings a commonly overlooked perspective to the show[8]

Reception:[edit]

The first episode is gaining the attention of the press and social media. In Psychology Today’s Standard Deviations article, Dr. Michael Aaron applauded the series for sparking important conversations, saying the show “[explores] the world of kink through insightful interviews and sharp humor” and “has generated intense buzz throughout the BDSM community.”[9]
