Kissy Cousins, Monster Babies and Morphing Elvis is a 2018 American comedy film directed by Wayne J. Keeley. The film began production in 1992 and completed filming in March 2018.[1] Keeley along with editor Josh Arguenta cut the project into three different versions. The History of Everything Circa 1993 to the Present Formerly Known As Kissy Cousins, Monster Babies and Morphing Elvis is a feature length version which runs 80 minutes[2]. Kissy Cousins, Monster Babies and Morphing Elvis is a 40 minute abridged version. Finally, Kissy Cousins, Monster Babies (Director's Cut) is a 30 minute abridged version. All three versions have won awards at Film Festivals.

Plot[edit]

Two Hollywood Producers try to save their dying careers by creating a blockbuster out of old movies and their warped imaginations. What they don't know is that they are being mined for their creative ideas.

Cast[edit]

Steve Kearney as Peter Grover

David Belafonte as John Peters

Jack Plotnick as Nurse Scratchet

Mike Memphis as Elvis Delivery boy

Charlie Dobson as The Shocker

Pat Cooper as Himself

Jeffrey Lyons as Himself

Michael Medved as Himself

The long production time of the film has caused it to outlive some its stars including Dr. Joyce Brothers, Nipsey Russel, Professor Irwin Corey, Mario Todisco, Joseph Keeley III.

Production[edit]

Principal photography commenced in 1992 in Florida with the Miami Dolphin Cheerleaders. Over the next 26 years, parts of the film were shot in Tennessee, California, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York, Connecticut and the District of Columbia. It was shot on 35mm, 16mm and parts on super 8. It was transferred to BetaSP and edited on video and then transferred back to film. A workshop production was screened at Cannes in 1994 and it won awards at Houston and Charleston Worldfest. It became caught up in distribution "hell," went through three film distributors and was never released[3]. In 2017, Keeley and his wife and creative partner, Stephanie C. Lyons-Keeley and Producer Craig Dobson decided to write additional material to make the film relevant as both a social and political satire relevant to present day[4]. Jack Plotnick and Charlie Dobson reprised their characters in the new material.

Reception[edit]

The project is presently being considered for a Guinness World's Record for longest production time. It has accrued many Film Festival Laurels to date including: thirteen for Official Selections and eleven Awards.

Of these are the Independent Short Awards[5]; The Rome Prisma Awards[6]; The Monthly Film Festival[7]; The Bronz Award at the Mindfeild Film Festival Albuquerque(NM)[8]; Royal Wolf Film Awards[9] and The direct Monthly Online Film Festival[10].

The film is set to premiere on September 26 2018 at the Bethel Cinema in Bethel, CT[11]
