Klausewitz "Klaus" Maximillian Heinz Schmidt (April 1 1896 - December 23 1939) was a German infantryman who fought in both the Western Front and Romanian Campaign in the First World War in the Ninth Army. Schmidt would then join the Freikorps after the war, in order to pursue a higher military journey. Schmidt also had ties with the Nazi Party after the Freikorps were disbanded.
