Knee and popliteal area
From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki
The knee and popliteal area are comprised of the front and back (anterior and posterior) areas immediately surrounding the knee joint. The knee joint is simply a junction between the upper (femur) and lower (tibia, phibula) leg bones. The area in front of this joint, and including the joint itself, is called the knee; while the area behind the joint is called the popliteal area or popliteal fossa.
