Komet (German for Comet) is the ninth studio album by the Neue Deutsche Härte band Megaherz, which was released on February 23, 2018. It is the last album to feature Jürgen "Bam Bam" Wiehler on drums.[2]
Lyrical Themes[edit]
Komet is described as largely focusing around social and political commentary, with themes of aggression, loss, and anxiety being emblematic of many of the songs.[3] The title track discusses the need for courage in times of disaster. The song "Von Oben" is a tribute to lead guitarist X-Ti's father, who died during production of the album. "Horrorclown" relates the history of Germany and the current state of politics in the United States, with audio clips hinting at U.S. President Donald Trump, while "Schwarz oder Weiß" talks about the increased polarization of society. "Heldengrab" focuses on fighting for one's ideals in the face of obstacles, with Lex going on to say "Those who are at peace with themselves are also armed against fear".
