Kottaimedu is a small village in Kanchanayachanpatti Panchayat in Salem District of Tamil nadu. It is bounded by Vadamaneri Lake on the North, West sarapanga river on the East, Solaikottai on the West, Kalarkadu on the south.and also Odasal lake on the southeast. Kottaimedu had a Four land parts which are Meloor(in English:upper village), Keeloor(in English: Lower village), Puliyamarathukottai and Muslim street.

The main occupation of Kottaimedu is agriculture. Paddy, sugarcane, cotton, Anemone Flower and vegetables are mainly grown. Moreover, people are also engaged in industries like power loom, handloom and mat manufacturing. There is Also Agriculture and building wages
