#LANDoftheBRAVEfilm is a Namibian film and transmedia project, launched on social media in 2014[2] and premiered on the Namibian cinema circuit in October 2019.[3]
Logline[edit]
During the dry Namibian winter a tough female cop investigates a series of hateful murders, only to encounter a ruthless reporter who exposes dark secrets from her past to derail the case. But the cop is determined to catch the killer, even if she has to break the law.[4]
Production Notes[edit]
#LANDoftheBRAVEfilm was primarily shot in and around Windhoek, with some scenes at Spreetshoogte Pass and in the small harbour town of Lüderitz.[5]
Principle photography was in July and August 2018, a total of 28 shooting days during the Namibian winter. The first draft of the screenplay was written by Tim Huebschle in 2009.[6] The actors translated the English dialogue of their respective lines into Afrikaans.[7] Music composer Ginge Anvik produced a score including music samples from the Nama, Himba, Ovambo and San of Namibia.[8]
Release[edit]
#LANDoftheBRAVEfilm premiered in Namibia on 10 October 2019 during red carpet event which was attended by more than 500 people.[9] The movie was screened on the cinema circuit in Windhoek, Swakopmund and Ongwediva.[10]
