La Feria[edit]

La Feria, first electronic music club in Chile, currently the only place dedicated exclusively to electronic music in the country. It is located in the sector of Barrio Bellavista, Providencia, Santiago and has capacity for 300 people. Various international artists are presented in it in club format in addition to national artists. This 2017 is it's 18th Anniversary. It opens every Thursday, Friday and Saturday of the year in addition to pre-holidays.

History[edit]

The beginnings of La Feria can be traced back to the '90s in Barrio Yungay. Their owners at the time, Carlos Cornejo and Cristián Poblete begin to introduce tech house in Chile permanently.[1] Then, in 1999, La Feria moved to the Casa Constitución, Constitución 275, where it is today. In December 2011, the club changed ownership. Fernando Díaz, entrepreneur and event producer, acquires the place and after eight months of remodeling, on August 2, 2012, La Feria reopens its doors.[2][3]

Infrastructure[edit]

The club has two main areas, the club itself and «Studio Mistral». In the latter sector, there is a bar that offers specialized cocktails and artistic sessions on vinyl. The main area of the club is characterized by its LED / RGB screen, which starts from behind the DJ, runs all over the wall and ceiling of the club. The sound system used is solely Funktion 1. It has a capacity of 300 people, two VIP areas in height and the main dance floor.

Artists[edit]

The beginnings of artists like, Luciano y Ricardo Villalobos, were at La Feria. Some of the international artists that visited the club in its first phase were Richie Hawtin, Kevin Yost, Vince Watson, Colin Dale, among others. Since 1992 and onwards, the club has received more than 150 international artists, from Dubfire, Guy J, Chris Liebing, Danny Tenaglia, Danny Howells, Hernán Cattaneo, John Digweed, Juan Atkins, Josh Wink, Kevin Saunderson, Luciano, Marco Bailey, Popof, Technasia, Yousef, Dave Seaman, Barem, Dandy Jack, Gorge, Matador, M.A.N.D.Y., Paco Osuna, Paul Ritch, Oxia, Nick Warren, Nicole Moudaber, Stephan Bodzin, Uner, Valentino Kanzyani, Zip, Yousef, Pan-Pot, Stefano Noferini, Tiefschwarz, to Stacey Püllen, among others.

Awards[edit]

During the year 2016, La Feria was chosen among the five best clubs in South America by DJ Mag. It is also on the official list of World's Finest Clubs, [4] a recognition awarded to clubs of excellence in the world.

La Feria On Tour[edit]

During the summer of 2017, the concept of La Feria On Tour was born. The brand grows to give rise to a cycle of massive events in Viña del Mar, Concón and Santiago. It's first four dates were hosted by Luciano, Guy J, Hernán Cattaneo and John Digweed.
