Larry Campbell And Teresa Williams

From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

Larry Campbell and Teresa Williams are a husband & wife musical duo in the Americana genre. Together they have released two albums through Red House Records: 'Larry Campbell & Teresa Williams' in 2015[1], and 'Contraband Love' in 2017. [2]

Beginning in 2005, Campbell & Williams regularly performed at Levon Helm's Midnight Rambles in Woodstock, New York.[3] Helm based his Ramble concerts on the southern medicine shows of his youth and invited some of the most notable folk, rock and blues entertainers and musicians of his generation to perform at his home-based Rambles.[4]

Campbell also produced, or co-produced three Grammy-winning albums with Levon Helm,[5] and was awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award by the Americana Music Association.[6]

After Helm's passing in 2012, Larry and Teresa continued to perform at the Rambles with The Dirt Farmer Band - Larry, Teresa, Amy Helm, Byron Isaacs and Justin Guip.

Larry and Teresa are still part of the Midnight Ramble Band which performs occasionally, notably at Love For Levon and Lincoln Center’s 40th anniversary celebration of The Last Waltz featuring Campbell, Williams, the Midnight Ramble Band, Patty Griffin, Anderson East, Dr. John, Buddy Miller, Bob Weir, Lucinda Williams and Teddy Thompson.[7]

With the release of their self-titled debut album in 2015, Larry and Teresa began touring as a duo and with their band (Justin Guip, drums and Jesse Murphy, bass and vocals). Their tours have traversed the United States and Canada, including performances in Jamaica, the UK, Ireland and Italy. Larry and Teresa have also appeared as featured guests with Bob Weir & Phil Lesh, Phil & Friends, Emmylou Harris, Jorma Kaukonen, Hot Tuna, Little Feat, John Prine, Jackson Browne, and Shawn Colvin.

Campbell and Williams are the subject of a soon-to-be released five part documentary[8] titled “It Was The Music” featuring live performance and studio footage plus interviews with Rosanne Cash, John Leventhal, William Bell, Jackson Browne, Buddy Miller, Phil Lesh, Jorma Kaukonen and more.[9]
