Laughing Skull Lounge
It is the smallest full-time comedy club in the world.
About[edit]
The Laughing Skull Lounge is a comedy club located in the back of the The Vortex Bar & Grill in Midtown, Atlanta, GA. The venue has only 74 seats, making it the smallest comedy club in the world.[1] The Laughing Skull Lounge is noted as Midtown’s premiere comedy club.[2]
Every week, the club hosts national & local comedians,[1] including regulars like Bobcat Goldthwait. [3]
The Laughing Skull Lounge is also the home of a showcase entitled “Jokin’ Off: A Comedy Battle.” The fast-paced showcase is comprised of 8 comedians duking it out in a joke-writing competition, each trying to survive the next round in order to be made champion.[4]
The Laughing Skull Lounge Comedy Festival[edit]
In 2009, Marshall Chiles, the owner of the Laughing Skull Lounge, created the Laughing Skull Comedy Festival.[5] In 2018, the 9th Annual Laughing Skull Comedy Festival received nearly 1,000 submissions, and brought 60 of the top comedians to Atlanta. [2]
