Company History[edit][edit]

Leadpages was founded in 2012 by U.S. entrepreneurs Clay Collins, Tracy Simmons, and Czech Republic-based Simon Payne.

Leadpages released its first software in January 2013 with around two dozen templates and software integrations, including compatibility with AWeber, MailChimp, InfusionSoft, GoToWebinar, among others. In September 2013, Leadpages acquired Series A funding of $5 million from the Foundry Group and Arthur Ventures.[1] In addition, in December of that year, the team launched Leadboxes launched, pop-up opt-in forms that could be automatically triggered by time-lapse or user action.

In January 2014, Leadlinks were added to the conversion toolkit to allow users to opt-in to an email list, sublist, or to register for an event. Lead Notifications was introduced in October 2014, a feature enabling Leadpages users to get new subscribers’ information to their email inbox.

In March 2015, Leadpages announced SMS text-enabled opt-in campaigns, known as Leaddigits. Leaddigits allow subscribers to join an email list, sign up for webinars, or opt-in for a lead magnet from their mobile phones. That same year, the team also introduced the drag-and-drop landing page builder. Another round of funding for Leadpages came in June 2015, with Series B fundraising of $27 million from Drive Capital, Foundry Group, and Arthur Ventures.[2]

In October 2015, Leadpages held its first Converted event, a  marketing conference for small businesses.

Leadpages acquired email marketing startup Drip in June 2016.

A year later, in November 2017, Leadpages unveiled it’s partnership with Facebook and announced the launch of the Facebook Ads Builder. Today, the team continues to build out its lead generation toolbox and supports more than 45,000 users.
