“Liar” is a song by American singer Britney Spears from the deluxe edition of her ninth studio album, Glory (2016) It was written by Jason Evigan, Breyan Isaac, Danny Parker, and produced by Nash Overstreet. The song received positive interest in 2024, with the success of Spears’ song Selfish, due to a campaign that was started by fans in attempt to promote Spears’ old music, with the same name of Justin Timberlake’s comeback single since 2016.

Spears released her ninth studio album, “Glory” on August 26, 2016. The album overall received positive reviews from critics, who praised Spears country-pop style, Liar was released as track 15 off the album.
Earlier in 2024, Spears announced her retirement from the music industry, 3 months earlier releasing her memoir “The Women In Me”, in October of 2023 describing her life. [1]
In January of 2024, Timberlake released his comeback single “Selfish” after coming back from a hiatus from his last single in 2018. Shortly after his single had been released, Spears’ fans took to Twitter to start a social media campaign to stream Selfish, and purchase it on music platforms.[2]
With the success of the media campaign, Fans started up another campaign on Twitter, urging fans to purchase “Liar” on music platforms. [3]
