In total, the fourth edition of Big Brother in the UK featured thirteen housemates competing to win the series.

Anouska[edit]

Anouska Golebiewski (born 8 November 1982) was a nursery assistant from Greater Manchester. She has stated that she would like to later become a child psychologist. She states that she frequently goes out during the weekends, and is looking for love. She has an intimate other outside of the house, Andrew, whom she described as being her "sort of boyfriend". She was one of the original twelve housemates to enter the house on Day 1. Early on, Anouska was seen as loud by her fellow housemates. On the first night, it was revealed that Anouska had received six nominations from her fellow housemates, and would be one of four housemates facing the public vote for the first eviction.

She was evicted on Day 8. Following her eviction, she then went on appear in the Big Brother house in Australia. In December 2004, she was one of the housemates who appeared on Big Brother Panto.[1]

Cameron[edit]

Cameron Stout (born 8 March 1971) was a fish trader for an American company in Orkney in Scotland. He has stated that he lived with his parents up until the age of 30, and that the three had a relationship similar to that of friends. Cameron had strong Christian beliefs, and later made tabloid headlines when he confirmed that he was proud to be a virgin, and later stating he felt that sex should only take place within marriage. He was one of the original twelve housemates to enter the house on Day 1.

Federico[edit]

Federico Martone (born 2 April 1980) was an Italian and Scottish waiter from Glasgow. He worked in a restaurant, Qua, which is owned by his father.[2] He described himself as being "light-hearted" and "chappy," later adding that these are only a portion of his personality. He was one of the original twelve housemates to enter the house on Day 1. During the first night, Federico was nominated for eviction, having received one nomination from his fellow housemates. He was nominated alongside Anouska, Jon, and Scott.

In 2009, Federico appeared in the tenth series as part of a task celebrating ten years of the series.[3]

Gos[edit]

Herjender "Gos" Gosal (born 28 July 1971) was a chef from London. He had to buy a completely new wardrobe before entering the house, as most of his clothing had designer labels on them. He had a girlfriend outside of the house, and the two had been together for more than a year. He lives with his parents, stating "It's an Indian thing". He was one of the original twelve housemates to enter the house on Day 1.

Jon[edit]

Jonathan "Jon" Tickle (both 8 May 1974 in Staines) had previously been a contestant on the game show Blockbusters in 1991. Jon had to give up his job in order to appear on the series, with this fact being revealed during the first night. He has an identical twin brother. He describes himself as a "rebel," and states that he would probably "stretch" the rules in the house. He was one of the original twelve housemates to enter the house on Day 1. During the first night, Jon was nominated for eviction, having received four nominations from his fellow housemates. He was nominated alongside Anouska, Federico, and Scott.

Justine[edit]

Justine Sellman (born 17 November 1975) was a sales assistant from Leeds, and was the first housemate in the series to be Jewish.[4] She has a twin "mirror" sister, and states that the two can feel when one thing happens to the other. She stated that she wanted to take opportunities that came her way, and also said she would enjoy finding romance in the house. She was one of the original twelve housemates to enter the house on Day 1.

Lisa[edit]

Lisa Jeynes (born 15 March 1968) was a shop manager from South Wales, who had recently completed an Open University degree in Social Sciences.[citation needed] She arrived on Day 37 and was evicted on Day 50. Lisa did however attempt to reapply to enter the following year's show, from which she was automatically turned away. Her stay in the house became a national talking point, as some of the housemates believed she had once been a man. She said she can "kill someone with two fingers", she was isolated by her housemates, particularly Cameron and Steph. Lisa, who was once voted the 46th most beautiful woman in Wales, has twice tried and failed to claim damages for the media treatment she faced during her time on the show. She has appeared on a number of television shows including Trisha Goddard following her struggles with her media treatment and "obsession" with plastic surgery. She was also romantically involved with James Hewitt.[5]

She briefly returned to the house in 2010 for the overall final Channel 4 series Ultimate Big Brother, in a task called Who Is She?. She stood in a line-up with four other women, all of whom said, "I'm Lisa Jeynes from Big Brother 4 and I could kill you with these two fingers". Nikki Grahame had to identify the real Lisa and guessed correctly.

Nush[edit]

Annuszka "Nush" Nowak (born September 1979) was a fine art student from Worcestershire. She now[when?] works as a TV producer/director.

Ray[edit]

Ray Shah (born 31 January 1978)[6] was an IT Systems Administrator for Shazam (service). He was originally from Dublin, but had been living in London for a year. He states that his friends would describe him as "outgoing" and "witty". He was one of the original twelve housemates to enter the house on Day 1.

Scott[edit]

Scott Turner (born 23 September 1975) was a marketing manager from Liverpool. He was single, and states that he didn't feel he needed a relationship. He feels that he hasn't reached his full potential in life, and states there's something out there he's "good at". He was one of the original twelve housemates to enter the house on Day 1. During the first night, Scott was nominated for eviction, having received one nomination from his fellow housemates. He was nominated alongside Anouska, Federico, and Jon.

Sissy[edit]

Joanne "Sissy" Rooney (born 17 October 1976) was a fashion designer from Toxteth, Liverpool. She had been in a relationship for the past three years with a man named Julian. She has listed her mother as her main inspiration, as she went to school after the death of her husband and got a degree. She was one of the original twelve housemates to enter the house on Day 1.

Steph[edit]

Stephanie Coldicott (born 28 May 1975) was a visual merchandiser from Redditch. Steph was married to former Grimsby Town and West Bromwich Albion footballer Stacy Coldicott. She was the first housemate this season to celebrate their birthday in the house. She is very close with her family, and they all live within a few miles of one another. She was one of the original twelve housemates to enter the house on Day 1.

Tânia[edit]

Tânia do Nascimento (born July 1980) was a model from London. She brought a total of twelve chocolate bars and nine pairs of shoes into the house. British newspaper Sunday Mirror later confirmed during that Tania had once had a relationship with singer Peter Andre, and was dating footballer Youssef Sofiane during her appearance on the series. She had also been involved with Dane Bowers before entering the house. She states that she often goes shopping and gets her nails done. She was one of the original twelve housemates to enter the house on Day 1.

Gaetano[edit]

Gaetano Kagwa (born 1971) from Uganda was the housemate from the Big Brother house in Africa which he swapped place with Cameron for four days. As a guest on UK version of the show, Gaetano not eligible to win, although he later finished fourth in the African version. During his time in the house, he famously described Tania as piggy due to her constant eating habits.[7]

Gaetano now presents the travel programme Studio 53 on MNet.[8]
